Tenten slowly raised the cup to her mouth.
There was a stiff silence in the room; not a fly's buzz could be heard.
She could feel the weight of looks, the strengh in which the people in front of her tried to stare her down. She did not look at them. She did not raise her head, but lifted the cup to her mouth instead. She could almost feel their looks burning into her as she drank the smoking green potion.
It was acid, she thought, and had this unusual lemony taste that she was sure ment no good. The drink burned the tip of her tongue, the inside of her mouth, down to her throat as she swallowed it down.
It had been quite a normal evening and a joyous day, and at that, one where she'd been presented with some great news. (Some of the best she'd had since the end of the war, in fact!) She had gone to her Sensei's house at a late hour, where the sun had

The night was frozen – and freezing – as Sakura hurried down the roads of her hometown. White smoke was emanating from her pink nose as she breathed, and she was hugging herself tigthly. Not a sound could be heard; there was no wind, and no life moving in the night's dark shadows. As she walked passed the small wooden houses*, she would sometimes hear faint voices, laughter, and see a splash of light illuminating the ground from the curtained windows.
As she walked past a pub, she heard angry voices shouting at each other, breaking the silence winter commanded to the night. She shuddered as she heard a noise of smashed glass, and took a quicker pace, anxious to get away before a fight exploded. Like any major town , night in Konoha gave her a different face than what most of the citizens were used to; much like one's reflection in a distorded mirror...
She was still far fr

(Note:Hi everyone!! So, just before you read: I had to create an OC, the story I had imagined made it impossible not to have a new character... BUT don't worry; I won't focuse the story on her at all until the middle of the story; and she's an ok character: she has as many bad sides than good )

All was silent in the streets of Konoha; the citizens, finally recovering from the Great War, were fleeing the cold streets of the City for the cosiness, calm and privacy of their homes. However, if the results of the war were no longer visible at a first glance, it's deep scars were still present among the population. This year, the State would have to struggle to help the numbers of new widows and orphans, and to erase the trauma the war had left. And that was even ignoring the reccession that Konoha had to

"To England then: never from France arrived more happy men"

Naruto was pacing up and down the room.
Up, down, up, down, pause.
He stole a look to the white door in front of him, dimly glowing in the semi-darkness surrounding it.
He tore his gaze away and resumed his pacing.
Up, down, up, down, up....
Once in a while he would stop by that white door, peer at it intently, even press his ears to it's white pannel. But not a sound, not a mouvement could be detected.
He had been walking through that corridor for what seemed hours. In fact, the one window at the very end of the corridor was looking full West, and had been filling up the floor with grand red light when he had first arrived. Now, however, no light was shining through; night had settled on Konoha.
And yet Naruto was still pacing up and down that corridor.
That endless mouvement had (rightly) annoyed the fox with whom Naruto's brain
Vie faucheeVIE FAUCHEE (MERCI PIERRE)Vie fauchee by Tari-Eledwhen
Journal entry n°1: TFSW Project
Hi everone!! I'm here to talk to you today about this very important project of mine: The Fifth Shinobi War (or TFSW for shorter titles :-p ). Before I begin, I would like to thank you all for reading this!!
So!! There it goes:
The Fifth Shinobi War is a lengthy fanfiction toiling around the themes of friendship, despair, courage and love.
Here is a short resume: As Jiraya of the Sanin comes back yo Konoha alive, months after Madara's defeat, Orochimaru has finally managed to defeat Sasuke and take over his body; the war against Konoha, and the nations of the Alliance, is declared. Believed to be an easily resolved conflict, the war takes an expected importance as shinobies fall one after the other – Naruto, the latest war's hero, is one of the first to disappear. Terrorised, despaired, in constant danger, Konoha's ex-rookies take the head of the resistance even as they see the number of their own deaths grow. Centered upon Shikamaru, Hinata, Ino, Tenten, Choji, Gai, Jiraya, Konohamaru and Shizune, this fanfiction shows the characters' evolutions as they fight, day after night, against despair and for a better world.
No character – absolutely none! - are bashed here. If Naruto and (spoiler!) Sakura die in the early chapters, it is not because I do not like those characters (which I don't, especially Sakura, who I believe is awesome!) but because of the story's necessity. There are pairings, the most important one being Jiraya and Tsunade ( <3 <3 <3 ) , but also very importantly Shikamaru and Temari, Ino and Choji, Gai and Shizune. There are hints of Naruto and Sakura, Tenten and Neji (as much as possible considering the manga's recent events...), Lee and Tenten (maybe? At least as very best friends!! ) and there may be some Naruto and Hinata near the end.
I know that Naruto is the main character of the series, that a fanfic without him makes little sense. No worries! He dies near the beginning, but will still have a great importance, and not just the memory of him! (Interested? Please read on :-p)
Indeed, the main reason for which I wrote this fanfic is that I am sick and tired of Naruto being the center of every one's thoughts and exploits in the manga. I love him, but he's just everywhere!! In almost every chapter! It seems none of them can do anything without Naruto around! It's so annoying I wanted to change that, to show that even without Naruto, every character in the serie is worth something. Even if I love the guy.
That is the second reason for this serie – Hinata in the show. She's too much in Naruto's shadow! It seems that every thought she has, every action she does, is linked to him. I'm sorry, but I disagree. :-p I think Hinata's charcter is beautiful and must be developed; that is precisly the second reason I'm writing this. I always imagined Hinata's evolution: how she goes over her shyness (not only about Naruto :-p), how her strength evolves, and how she becomes a courageous and intelligent leader. That is the Hinata I wanted to show, one that doesn't differ much from the series but continues her evolution and that steps out of Naruto's shadow.
Another reason for writing this fanfic is that I've been wanting to become an author since I was a child, but I've abandonned all my novels (2 to date :-p) because the characters lack depth and the writing style. So, please consider this as a transition from the age where you wish to write a novel but are not mature and skilled enough to do so, to one where it becomes possible. I'm trying to improve all of those aspects and I hope this will show in my writing...
Finally, the last, but definetly not least, reason I'm writing this. Jiratsu. There just isn't enough fanfictions around Jiraya and Tsunade... So this one will be. I swear, I'll show you beautiful Jiratsu scenes and make anyone reading this love this couple as much as I do. I know I can Believe it!
Soo, there you go. This is what the Fifth Shinobi War will be about, and the why's concerning it.
Thank you so, so much for reading this. I hope you'll be interested in reading my fanfic
P.S.: I have fallen in love, most litterally, with English literature this year. Emily Dickinson, E.M. Forster, Shakespear, Tennysson, Yeats... I love them so much I decided to make a small reference to them in the form of a quotation at the beginning of each chapter. The quotations will obviously be linked to the chapter and will give you a hint of what will be happening.
